FROM MOBILE WORK ORDERS TO A COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION

Dürr Dental’s collaboration with Novacura began with a need for a mobile work order solution for its service technicians. After experiencing the platform’s potential, the solution quickly expanded and is now used across multiple business areas, including field service, integrations, automation, and warehouse management.

One of the most innovative implementations is the company’s advanced planning portal – a system that not only optimizes service scheduling but also integrates with Google Maps to streamline technician dispatching.

A PLANNING PORTAL THAT OPTIMIZES ROUTES WITH GOOGLE MAPS

One of Dürr Dental’s challenges was efficiently planning and optimizing technician travel to customer locations. With Novacura Flow, they built a powerful planning portal that automatically calculates the fastest and most efficient route for each technician based on real-time data from Google Maps.

The Novacura portal loads all essential data and visualizes it on an interactive map, displaying technician home bases, customer locations, and the full team schedule. Planners can easily create, rearrange, delete, or confirm assignments within the portal, with all necessary information presented in one place.  The Novacura portal calculates estimated travel times by car, ensuring precise scheduling and minimizing downtime between appointments.

The portal calculates travel time from point A to B, as well as to subsequent assignments. By incorporating travel time into scheduling, Dürr Dental ensures a more realistic and balanced workload distribution. Additionally, the system allows for optimized routing, enabling technicians to handle multiple assignments in succession without unnecessary detours—saving both time and resources.

A SMART AND VISUAL PLANNING EXPERIENCE

The planning portal is designed to be both functional and user-friendly. It features a clear and intuitive interface where technicians and planners can easily get an overview of scheduled tasks for the day. Color-coded assignments make it simple to track work order status, while the dynamic map integration provides a real-time view of technician locations and how schedules are affected.

With this solution, Novacura supports Dürr Dental in planning more efficiently and effectively—ultimately enabling them to serve their own customers better and faster.
